Where to get dread amber shards

Vale of Eternal Blossoms. The island in the southwest will give you more single pulls and easier to manage, the other area will give you multiple mobs which can be harder for some people but also more rewarding.

I am nearly exalted with klaxxi myself and still haven't finished one stack. I farmed for 2 hours and only found 1. It would be nice if it was more even. Ive gotten 11 total and im almost revered with the klaxxi. And honored with Black prince. I doubt these are worth farming at the moment. Comment by warstry Just throwing this out there. As a rogue, I was able to successfully farm one turn in 20 shards approximately every hour with the Raining Blood and Battle Hymn buffs. My methods were to grab about 2 groups of 5 Rippers, along with any other mobs that I could possibly reach capping out at around 15 mobs per pull.

Given the raining blood buff, you can either focus on one of the mobs, keeping the rest of them stunned, or AoE them all if your class has such capabilities and still keeping them stunned. As I mentioned before, the rapid attack speed is needed to not get melted by the mobs via keeping them perma-stunned. This method will also net a vast amount of Motes of Harmony granting a significant gold gain while farming rep, and vise versa.

I'm farming these shards with very little pay off at the moment. After an hour of farming well over mobs killed, I have gained only 5 shards. This essentially only confirms that we're all either extremely unlucky, or that Blizzard felt they dropped too often, and nerfed them.

In any case, I recommend killing the optional daily bosses whenever possible, and not bother farming these. I decided the effort was not worth it, and I'd just pick up what I got along the way. In case anyone is interested in a snapshot of the casual droprate, I just hit Exalted yesterday. I turned in the quest twice and had 14 shards left in my bag - so I found a total of 54 shards without farming any. Put into perspective, that's the equivalent of half a set of dailies at Revered. I was going out there each day anyway as I had held on to the Dark Skies quest while working towards the achievement, so it wasn't a real grind to run the rest of the dailies while I was working my way through Revered.

So, a half-hour spent doing dailies and getting VPs and Lesser Charms versus how long would it take to farm 80 shards for the equivalent rep? I can see the attraction of farming these shards if you REALLY want the Klaxxi gear and the ring from the final quest IS quite lovely , but I could not justify the time involved in grinding that out. And this is coming from a REAL farmer not just Beloved, but also every pet and almost every mount in game, over 14K Ach points, and also almost every recipe for every prof.
